Talpa calls the reporting about a return of the Today Inside program on SBS6 “premature”. That is what the media company states in a response to Johan Derksen’s statements that the program will return on television on Monday, with him at the table.
“We had a good conversation with the men last Sunday to look back in peace on the past weeks and what happened,” said a short statement from Talpa Network. “As soon as there is more news to report, we will come back to this from SBS6.”
Derksen confirmed on Wednesday, after reports from the AD, that the program will continue. The three presenters decided to stop almost two weeks ago after a commotion about a confession by Derksen that he penetrated an unconscious woman with a candle half a century ago. He later recanted his story, saying there had been no penetration.
In the AD, Derksen says that he and his companions did not decide to leave because of all the angry reactions, but because they did not receive “backing” from Talpa. That would be the case now. Earlier, Talpa boss Paul Römer said that he found the reactions to the candle story in the program “astonishing”. The diners had to laugh hard at Derksen’s anecdote.
