Vlogger Yvonne Coldeweijer has to go to court on Friday. According to the maker of the so-called juice channel Life of Yvonne, singer Samantha Steenwijk has filed a preliminary injunction. Coldeweijer has accused Steenwijk – wrongly according to the singer – of using illegal diet pills.
The singer’s management does not want to confirm that Steenwijk has filed the lawsuit. The court in Amsterdam does not name the claimant.
In a video, Coldeweijer explains that Steenwijk is asking for a rectification and compensation. According to the requirement, Coldeweijer would also have to give up her sources. Steenwijk’s lawyer would have asked for a rectification before, to which Coldeweijer also complied. However, that would not have happened according to Steenwijk’s requirements. Coldeweijer has now taken the video about the use of the diet pills offline.
It is the first time that Life of Yvonne has been involved in a civil lawsuit, but Coldeweijer says he has had warnings before. The Government Information Service is said to have sent her a letter after she posted a photo of Princess Amalia with an alcoholic drink. Coldeweijer also received a lot of criticism for her reporting about the hostage situation in the Amsterdam Apple Store. She would have put the hostages in danger by doing so.
