Borussia Dortmund lets two refugee football players train

The fled two participate in Dortmund’s U23 team, the number 2 in the Bundesliga. Catching the players is purely meant to give them the chance to stay in shape.

Frimpong Owusu plays for Zorja Luhansk, Aussi plays for Veres Rivne. Frimpong Owusu indicated that he could go to Dortmund through contacts of his agent.

The Ukrainian leagues were shut down shortly after the Russian invasion.

Medal winners Paralympic Games addressed by Rutte

13:51: The three Dutch medal winners at the Beijing Paralympic Games were honored by Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Conny Helder of Sport. That happened in the Catshuis in The Hague. Seat skiers Jeroen Kampschreur and Niels de Langen and snowboarder Chris Vos spoke briefly with the ministers, who addressed them later. Attention was paid to the good performances of the Paralympics, while the war was still going on in Ukraine.

The coaches and chef de mission Esther Vergeer were also present at the moment in the Catshuis. TeamNL, which consisted of eight winter athletes in China, won four medals at the Paralympic Winter Games: three silver and one bronze. De Langen, who carried the Dutch flag at the closing ceremony on Sunday, took care of half of the harvest. The sit skier won bronze in the super combination and silver in the slalom. The Netherlands finished in sixteenth place in the medal standings.

Later on Tuesday, the athletes will go to Noordeinde Palace, where they will be received by King Willem-Alexander and Princess Margriet.

Klopp thinks Salah will be there against Arsenal on Wednesday

1.35 pm: Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp expects that he can call on Mohamed Salah in the Premier League’s away game against Arsenal on Wednesday. The 29-year-old Egyptian suffered a minor foot injury last weekend.

“It seems,” Klopp replied when asked if the attacker is available against Arsenal. “Mo is a tough one and he only suffered a little. His foot was swollen, it hurt, but by Monday it was less painful. I have just been informed that he can train with us and we will see how that goes.”

Klopp says defender Ibrahima Konate will return to the squad. James Milner and Kostas Tsimikas are out due to illness.

Arsenal v Liverpool start at 9.15pm on Wednesday. With a win, Liverpool will come one point behind leaders Manchester City, which drew 0-0 against Crystal Palace on Monday.

Marathon sensation Brinkman starts on April 10 in Rotterdam

13:04: Athlete Nienke Brinkman will participate in the Rotterdam marathon next month. The runner (28) who grew up in Leiderdorp has become the third fastest Dutch woman ever in the marathon since her official debut in December in Valencia, with her time of 2:26.34. With this, Brinkman qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Eugene and the European Championships in Munich this summer.

Brinkman says her first marathon on Dutch soil “was at the top of her list.” “It is extra special that I can now run the NN Marathon Rotterdam as a member of the NN Running Team. I am really looking forward to it.” At the beginning of this year, she was included in the NN Running Team of Dutch manager Jos Hermens, which also includes global toppers such as Eliud Kipchoge, Joshua Cheptegei and Abdi Nageeye.

Brinkman will face competition on Sunday 10 April from Stella Barsioso, last year’s Kenyan winner, and Haven Hailu, the participant with the best personal best. Brinkman has the fourth fastest personal record of the starting women. The women’s course record is 2:18:58, set by the Ethiopian Tiki Gelana in 2012.

Bashir Abdi from Belgium and Nageeye, the holder of the Dutch record (2.06.17), start among the men. The two friends took a medal in the marathon at the Olympic Games last year. Nageeye raced behind Kenyan world record holder Kipchoge to silver in Sapporo and followed Abdi to bronze.

Louis Hollaar switches to Team Reggeborgh

12.24 pm: Skater Louis Hollaar will compete for Team Reggeborgh for the next two years. The 23-year-old specialist in the 1000 and 1500 meters comes over from Team IKO, where he skated for the past two seasons. Hollaar, who lives in Heerenveen, says he would like to get “closer to the top” on his distances.

“Especially in the 1500m. It is great that I now also join the team at Kjeld Nuis. I want to work hard to improve my top speed and eventually grow to the level of Nuis,” said Hollaar. “When I see what kind of team there is at Reggeborgh, I am proud that I can be part of that.”

Cambuur upgrades contract defender Van der Meer

12.14 pm: Cambuur has upgraded Jhondly van der Meer’s contract and extended it until the summer of 2024. The new contract of the 19-year-old defender, two-time international for Haiti, includes an option for an extra season.

“It is of course wonderful to see a player from their own youth academy doing so well in the first team. Jhondly has made great strides in recent years and is still only 19 years old. There is still plenty of scope and potential and with this extension we are expressing our confidence in it,” said technical manager Foeke Booy.

Van der Meer played ten league matches for Cambuur this season, seven of which as a substitute. The club from Leeuwarden is ninth in the Eredivisie.

Basketball player Towns scores 60 points on historic night

08.17 am: Karl-Anthony Towns has led Minnesota Timberwolves past San Antonio Spurs with an impressive performance. Towns (26) accounted for no less than 60 points in San Antonio and therefore had a large share in the 149-139 victory. In addition, Towns was also good for seventeen rebounds.

More than 22 years ago, on March 6, 2000, legend Shaquille O’Neal was the last to reach at least 60 points and that many rebounds. More than two decades ago, he racked up 61 points and 23 rebounds for the Los Angeles Lakers.

“I said to the coach: listen, we have to win this game,” said Towns. “And I’m going to do whatever it takes. If you let me play 44 to 48 minutes, I’ll take care of it. That’s the mindset I started with. I had to dominate and play my best game.” This season, no player had reached 60 points. LeBron James of the Lakers and Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks both had 56 points.

Stephen Curry graced his 34th birthday with a score of 47 points. He saw his Golden State Warriors team beat Washington Wizards 126-112.

Ajax attacker Danilo seems to make a spicy transfer to Feyenoord | NOW

Published

on

Ajax striker Danilo is reportedly about to make a transfer to arch-rival Feyenoord. According to the AD and VI the 23-year-old Brazilian will soon sign a four-year contract in De Kuip.

Danilo’s switch is the reverse route that Steven Berghuis took a year ago. The attacker made the switch from Feyenoord to Ajax in the summer of 2021, after which he was threatened for months.

With the arrival of Danilo, Feyenoord is already anticipating the possible departure of a number of attackers. Bryan Linssen is associated with a transfer to the Japanese Urawa Red Diamonds and the question is whether the striker Cyriel Dessers rented from KRC Genk can be definitively taken over.

Danilo, whose contract with Ajax expires at the end of next month, had been sidetracked in Amsterdam this season. The Brazilian scored two goals for the champion in thirteen Eredivisie matches. Behind Sébastien Haller and Brian Brobbey, he was the third choice of the coach Erik ten Hag who has now left for Manchester United.

Ajax striker Danilo will most likely make the spicy switch to Feyenoord in the summer.

Danilo could never convince at Ajax

Danilo was in his fifth season at Ajax. He was acquired in 2017 for about 2 million euros from the Brazilian Santos. In Amsterdam, however, he could never fully convince.

Last season he was rented out to FC Twente, where he was a fixed value. Danilo played 34 official games for the Tukkers and was good for 17 goals and five assists.

Kenneth Vermeer was the last Ajax player to make the spicy switch to Feyenoord in 2014. Angelos Charisteas (2006), John van Loen (1993) and Johan Cruijff (1983) preceded him, among others.
