De Waard at World Swimming Championships as fourth to semi-finals 50 butterfly

10:53 am: Maaike de Waard has reached the semi-finals in the 50-meter butterfly at the World Long Course Championships in Budapest with the fourth fastest time. De Waard came out at 25.92. The fastest was China’s Zhang Yufei in 25.39.

Tessa Giele fell short for a place in the best sixteen. She swam the nineteenth time: 26.63.

Nyls Korstanje, Thom de Boer and Jesse Puts will return on Thursday evening for a performance in the semifinals. Korstanje does that in the 100-meter butterfly in which he finished in the series at 51.97, the fifteenth time. The best time was won by the Hungarian Kristof Milak: 50.68. De Boer and Puts came into action in the 50 meter freestyle. De Boer scored after 21.91, the eighth time. Puts placed 15th in 22.09. Here the Brazilian Bruno Fratus was the fastest: 21.71.

On Thursday evening, Caspar Corbeau will also compete in the final in the 200-meter breaststroke.

Olympic champion France too strong for volleyball players

07:31 am: The Dutch volleyball players failed to stunt against France in the Nations League. The Olympic champion was clearly too strong for the team of national coach Roberto Piazza in Quezon City in the Philippines. The set positions were 25-14 25-23 25-13.

The Orange now stands on three wins and three defeats. The French have won five times and have only lost to Poland so far.
