Pokemon GO trainers have been mostly living without big Raiding events for the past two months, but the recent release of Remote Raid passes should help change that going forward. In addition to a new rotation of Legendary bosses in the tier 5 Battle Raids, Niantic is also ready to bring back the Raid Hour events starting this month.

Raid Hour events offer a special chance for Pokemon GO players to easily find and battle the current Legendary boss without driving around town searching for a silver egg on top of a Gym. Those special spawns for a full hour combined with the Remote Raid pass functionality should make it incredibly easy to battle against Giratina this week.

The upcoming return of Raid Hour begins tomorrow at 6pm (local time) and lasts for one full hour. Players should review the best Giratina counters and try to coordinate with other local players for when to enter the Gym and start the battle.

“Now that the ability to raid remotely is available to Trainers level 5 and up, we’re excited to announce that Raid Hour is coming back this week, this time featuring Altered Forme Giratina! With a Remote Raid Pass, you can join a Raid Battle that you can see on the Nearby screen or tap on the map. If you’d like to give raiding remotely a try during Raid Hour, you can pick up a Remote Raid Pass in the shop.”

Date + Time

Wednesday, May 6, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in your local time zone

Raid Battles featuring Altered Forme Giratina will be happening more frequently.

How to get a Remote Raid Pass

Open the Pokémon GO app.

Tap the Poké Ball icon, and then tap Shop.

Scroll down to the Items section.

From there, you can get one Remote Raid Pass for 100 PokéCoins. Please note that if you have three or more Remote Raid Passes in your Item Bag, you won’t be able to acquire more.

For now, players may want to keep hunting down the best Unova Pokemon in the game if improving their Battle Raid rosters is their primary goal. Be sure to check back in the near future for more Pokemon GO strategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!

Pokemon GO is available now in select regions on Android and iOS devices.
