On average, almost 2.1 million people saw the Rotterdammers reach the final in a nail biter. In total, almost 3.5 viewers tuned in to the semi-final match in the Stade Velodrome. With that, the NOS Journaal of 8 p.m. was ‘trumped’.
On May 25, Feyenoord will play in the final battle of the Conference League. AS Roma is then the opponent in the Albanian capital Tirana. Getting tickets to the final will not be easy. The final battle will be played in a stadium that can only accommodate 22,500 spectators.
13 million euros
The club has earned almost 13 million euros in prize money by reaching the final of the Conference League. If the Rotterdammers also win the final battle in Tirana, they can add 2 million euros extra.
Qualification for the Conference League yielded Feyenoord an amount of 2,940,000 euros and an additional 500,000 euros per win in the group stage. Because Feyenoord won four times in the group, that came down to 2 million euros. Two draws, the group win and overwintering resulted in an additional 1.5 million euros.
Reaching the last sixteen yielded 600,000 euros, placing in the last eight 1 million euros and a place in the last four 2 million euros. A finalist will receive 3 million euros, the winner an additional 2 million.
Fines
The prize money is offset by the fact that Feyenoord owes UEFA a considerable amount of fines – several hundred thousand euros – for, among other things, setting off fireworks and throwing objects.
