Claudia de Breij provides New Year’s Eve conference for the third time

Claudia de Breij will again provide the New Year’s Eve conference for the NPO this year. She announced this on Thursday in the program De Avondshow with Arjen Lubach. BNNVARA will broadcast the performance on New Year’s Eve.

It is the third time that De Breij is responsible for the end-of-year performance. Previously, the 47-year-old comedian already did that in 2016 and 2019. Both shows were received with great praise. The playlist of the 2022 edition will be available on its website from Thursday evening. Ticket sales will start in theaters in the coming weeks.

De Breij joins a select group that has made more than two year-end shows. Wim Kan, Freek de Jonge, Youp van ‘t Hek and Dolf Jansen all made more than ten. But of the generation in their forties, De Breij is the second to receive the honor more than twice. Guido Weijers has now made a New Year’s Eve show for RTL ten times.

The record holder is Dolf Jansen, who has so far made 32 New Year’s Eve conferences. In the beginning he did this together with his buddy Hans Sibbel, since 2007 he has been making the performances solo.

Tiësto big winner at Buma Awards

Tiësto is this year’s big winner at the Buma Awards. The DJ won prizes in both the Buma Award National and Buma Award International categories, the prizes for the most played and best-selling songs within and outside the Netherlands. Suzan & Freek took first place in the National category with their hit Gold.

Tiësto scored third in the same category with the song The Business. Internationally, that song was the most listened to. He also received a statuette for The Motto, which the DJ made with Ava Max. During the award ceremony in theater Spant! in Bussum, Snelle en Maan (for Staying asleep), Chef’Special (for Afraid of the dark) and Jaap Reesema and Pommelien Thijs (for Nu we don’t sleep anymore) also went home with a prize.

In addition to the Buma Awards, various jury prizes were also awarded on Monday. This year’s Golden Harp is for ADE founder Anna Knaup. Ilse de Lange received the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lennaert Nijgh Prize went posthumously to Henny Vrienten.
