The drama series revolves around the suicide of teenage Hannah, who leaves behind cassette tapes on which she has recorded how she came to that act. In the last episode of the first season of 13 Reasons Why originally featured Hannah committing suicide. Netflix deleted that scene two years after the series’ release.
The father of the girl involved in the lawsuit said the series contributed to his daughter’s decision to end her life. According to The Hollywood Reporter The judge ruled on Monday that she found the case tragic, but that Netflix content falls under freedom of expression.
